Course Objective

- This course is designed for students who want to apply for undergraduate or graduate programs. Through the programs, students will learn Korean language skills and culture to function at an academic level.
- This course will also offer Korean language instruction for those who want to speak fluently for business or vocational purposes.

- Session: 4 semesters per year (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter)

- Class Time: Mon-Fri, 09:00 ~ 13:00 (10 weeks)

- Class Hours: 200 hours (4 hours/day x 5 days/week x 10 weeks)

- Level: 6 Levels(1 to 6)

- Culture Excursion: 1 or 2 times each semester

- We can pick up students who only arrive on Airpor pickup date before 4pm at Incheon airport.

Classes

Level	Contents
Level 1	Students will be able to perform basic communication tasks needed in daily life.
Level 2	Students will be able to communicate in daily life without serious problem and will also understand basic Korean culture.
Level 3	Students will be able to perform basic communication needed in social functions and understand various components of Korean culture.
Level 4	Students will improve minimum Korean skills essential for a Korean university and will experience Korean traditional culture.
Level 5	Students will be able to communicate naturally in daily life and will gain extended knowledge of Korean culture and history.
Level 6	Students will be able to communicate naturally in social functions and have a deep understanding of Korean culture and history.

Evaluation

- Exam: 2 exams per semester (Midterm/Final)
- Pass/Fail Criteria:

Levels 1 & 2
Students with a total exam score above 70
and attendance rate above 80% can pass the course.

Levels 3 & 4
Students with a total exam score above 65
and attendance rate above 80% can pass the course.

Levels 5 & 6
Students with a total exam score above 60
and attendance rate above 80% can pass the course.

Level Test

Upon being accepted into the Korean Language Course, you must take the level test.

- Students with prior knowledge of the Korean language must also take the level test.
- The test covers Reading, Writing, Speaking, with each subject spanning 20~50 minutes.
- Students who have only just begun studying Korean will be placed in Level 1.
- Test results will be posted on the notice board at the beginning of the semester.

Orientation

- Orientation is held for new students at the beginning of the semester.
- Contents:

· Introduction to the course and living in Korea (Visa, Insurance, Campus Facilities, etc.)
· Applying for the Alien Registration Card

Scholarships

Seoultech Korean Language Course offers scholarships for outstanding students to concentrate on their studies.

- A prize for outstanding grade: select 1 student in each level when semester ends.

- Offers scholarship for Seoultech Undergraduate student who finished 4 semesters or more in a Seoultech Korean Language Course (※ must have 80% or more attendance percentage for the last 2 semesters of Korean Language Course)

- A discount benefits of tuition fee for Seoultech members
