Made the great achievement of being selected for the project for the 12th consecutive year, starting with the first stage of the Project for Engineering Education Innovation Centers in 2007

- The Engineering Education Innovation Center secures project support funding of about KRW 800 million for four years until 2021.

On March 2, the Seoul National University of Science and Technology (SeoulTech) (President Kim Jongho) was selected for the “2018 Project to Support the Education of Creative-Fusion Engineering Talents” after an annual evaluation of the said project by the Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. The project’s aim is to educate creative engineering talents and enhance the global competitiveness of Korea’s engineering education through the development and management of engineering education programs that fit the industrial demand and the characteristics of each university.

During this year’s annual evaluation, the achievements made within the last three years (2015–2017) and next year’s project plan were evaluated to decide whether to a university would be selected again for project support. SeoulTech achieved project support worth about KRW 200 million a year for the next four years.

Director Sin Hyeon-sang of SeoulTech’s Engineering Education Innovation Center commented on the university having been selected again for the project: “SeoulTech led the innovative education of engineering talents based on excellent achievements made in spreading innovative teaching methods, Capstone Design multidisciplinary approach, and creative and fusion programs, among others, through the
