SeoulTech Signs MOU for the Creation of a Future Engineering Education Pioneer University Innovation Group
SeoulTech, Kumoh National Institute of Technology, and Korea University of Technology and Education Sign MOU to Cultivate Engineering Professionals

 

SeoulTech (President Lee Dong Hoon), Kumoh National Institute of Technology (KNIT) (President Lee Sang Cheol), and the Korea University of Technology and Education (KoreaTech) (President Lee Sung-gi) signed an MOU to create a Future Engineering Education University Innovation Group on January 28th.

 

 

The signing ceremony was held at the KoreaTech Main Hall Conference Room with the presidents of the three institutions and approximately 20 administrative and representative staff members attending. The MOU was signed to cultivate engineering professionals who will lead the Fourth Industrial Revolution through the sharing of cross-university networks and resources.

 

The three institutions promised to cooperate on the joint development of an educational program on future engineering education. To meet this objective, the three universities agreed to share professors and study techniques as well as develop and contribute to designing educational programs based on practical and experimental experiences. The schools assented to develop and operate a joint program for academic exchanges and to advance and share state-of-the-art online media educational content. In addition, the creation of a financing support project consortium was agreed upon, among other projects.
Moreover, an administrative discussion was held on specific topics of the MOU such as acquiring national projects for the development of Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies and the innovation of public education. The three institutions are planning to hold debate sessions at each university in addition to professor study technique seminars in order to further enhance the relationship of the three schools in creating a Future Engineering Education University Innovation Group.  

 

SeoulTech President Lee Dong Hoon said, “We hope that the signing of the MOU for the creation of the innovation group will allow for mutual cooperation between each university through engineering education. We also anticipate that it will provide us with an opportunity to lead the development of a future engineering educational program.”

 

KNIT President Lee Sang Cheol, who led efforts to sign the MOU, said, “The exchanges between our three institutions with their strengths in the engineering field will create a synergy effect on the development of future engineering education. We will do our best to cultivate engineering professionals that will lead our region and the future of our nation through cooperation in education and research.”

 

KoreaTech President Lee Sung Gi said, “We hope to establish a system that cultivates engineering professionals using the strengths and characteristics of each of the three institutions. We will work effortlessly to cultivate professionals to lead the Fourth Industrial Revolution through higher engineering education capabilities and standards.”
