- Operation of the College of Multidisciplinary Studies toward the Future will be stabilized to expand opportunities for higher education

On April 12, the College of Multidisciplinary Studies toward the Future of the Seoul National University of Science and Technology (SeoulTech; President: Kim, Jong-ho) was designated for the Lifelong Learning Universities Support Project funded by the Ministry of Education and the National Institute for Lifelong Education. SeoulTech has been chosen for the program for three consecutive years since 2016.

The SeoulTech College of Multidisciplinary Studies toward the Future has secured a total of 5,670,000,000 KRW over three years, including 960,000,000 KRW this year. The program aims to establish an open lifelong learning system to elevate the quality of life, with the goal to foster creative human resources equipped with the expertise needed in society.

TBL is an innovative teaching method by which a video lecture, a two-way communication video lecture, and a classroom lecture are provided sequentially.

SeoulTech will reorganize the engineering departments of the College of Multidisciplinary Studies toward the Future (Department of Mechanical Convergence Engineering and Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering) into a school of engineering to recruit students. A total of 240 new students will be recruited to join the College of Multidisciplinary Studies toward the Future, including the Department of Healthcare, the Department of Culture and Arts Business, the Department of English Cultural Studies, and the Department of Entrepreneurship and Venture Management.

Professor Kim Seong-gon, the Dean of the SeoulTech College of Multidisciplinary Studies toward the Future, stated: "I think that a national university has an obvious responsibility to establish a lifelong learning system for various members of a society and to provide them with educational opportunities. To prepare for the Fourth Industrial Revolution era, we will provide adults with learning opportunities for continuous self-growth and self-development."
