Researchers from the Department of Mechanical Systems Design Engineering, SeoulTech (iCAE Laboratory, supervising Professor Park Geun) were awarded the Industrial Commerce Venture Business Committee Award and the Korea Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute President Award in “The 7th Creative Makers Field: The 4th Industrial Revolution Idea Competition” held in the National Assembly on September 21.
 

“The 7th Creative Makers Field: The 4th Industrial Revolution Idea Competition” was hosted by Lee Jong Bae of the National Assembly's Industrial and Commercial Resources Committee and Song Hee-kyung of the Science and Technology Broadcasting Commission's Information Communication Commission, under the supervision of the Korea 3D Printing Service Association. The event included the following programs: ▲ Idea competition for university students during the 4th Industrial Revolution ▲ 3D printing equipment/technology exhibition ▲ Leading 4th Industrial Revolution equipment/technology exhibition ▲ Exhibition of universities’ creative education contents.

The Korea 3D Printing Service Association brought together 3D printing ideas and products from universities all over the country. The work of 100 teams was examined, and 32 teams were selected to receive awards from the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises and Startups, and the Chairman of the Standing Committee and the President of the Business Promotion Agency.

The competition aimed to encourage the practical application of 3D printing technology to various industries and to contribute to the creation of new markets and to the national economy by sharing the creative education results of universities.
