Office of International Education Hosts the 45th International Coffee Hour
Offering a time to network and unite with traditional food and activities

SeoulTech’s Office of International Education hosted the 45th International Coffee Hour at the Language Center Conference Hall on March 27th.

The Language Education Team of the Office of International Education has continued to host the International Coffee Hour event since November 4th, 2011 in order to provide both domestic and international students with a chance to network and to increase cultural exchanges.

The theme of the event was “Korean Food and Traditional Activities” and was an opportunity to introduce Korean food and traditional activities to international students. Traditional Korean street food, Tteok-bokki (spicy rice cakes) and the traditional Korean game, Jegichagi (kicking Jegi) were introduced.

Approximately 150 domestic and international students participated in the event and spent time together playing Jegichagi and sharing Korean street food such as tteok-bokki, sundae, fries, Gimbap, kimchee dumplings, meat dumplings, stir-fried gobchang, stir-fried sundae, sweet crispy fried chicken and various Korean refreshments.

The participating students gathered together to play mingle games where students could get to know one another more as they played a bingo-type game comprised of 25 questions about their experiences and hobbies.

The awards for the Jegichagi tournament and mingle games were presented at the end and a group photo was taken to finish the event.

Additional International Coffee Hour events are planned for May 23, September 25 and November 14.
