Education Course

Organization outline
  • All liberal education subjects in the liberal education course are categorized into academic section of interest (hereinafter “Section”), and the following basic principles are applied to organization for balanced implementation of liberal subjects for each section.
  • All liberal subjects are categorized into each Section, and a balance between each Section is pursued.
  • Designation of the required subjects or other completion criteria are separately decided and implemented.
Operation of liberal education course
  • •Common-required subjects
  • Writing & Communication: supervised and operated by Basic Education College
  • English: General English (English & English Conversation) is supervised and operated by Language Education Institute
  • Voluntary service & Design of career path: supervised and operated by Student Office
  • •Basic academic subjects
  • Regarding the basic academic subjects for each college, each department can organize the required liberal subjects within 23 credits.
  • In principle, basic academic subjects are to be supervised and operated by the Basic Education College.
    ※ However, it can be operated by the college depending on the subject, and in this case, the related information (basic items such as lecturer appointment and schedule allocation) are to be delivered to the Basic Education College every semester.
  • The Head Professor for each basic academic subject is to be designated for the operation.
  • •Liberal subjects for each Section
  • Section 1-5: supervised and operated by Basic Education College
  • •Liberal electives
  • They are to be supervised and operated by the Basic Education College. Liberal elective subjects opened by request from individual departments in the past, are to be supervised and operated by the Basic Education College from 2010. The Basic Education College can commission specific departments regarding the appointment of lecturers and the operation of subjects.
  • Language related subjects such as Japanese (1), Japanese (2), Chinese (1), and Chinese (2) are supervised and operated by the Language Education Center.
